The problems in Baltimore are in response to the funeral of Mr. Freddy Gray, 25 who died to due to police causing spinal damage that and complications that led to his death.

The looting and damages stem form the death of Gray and if we were to analyze the death of other Black Men in America. Gray was the Tipping Point and the last domino that is being played out on the streets of Baltimore.

“Thousands of troops and outside police officers have been deployed to the US city of Baltimore, following violent protests linked to the death of a black man fatally injured in police custody. A week-long curfew has been announced and schools and many businesses are closed. On Monday, hundreds of people set fires, looted stores and confronted police across the city.” reports BBC.

“15 police officers injured — six seriously — and damaged or destroyed dozens of businesses, homes and cars. It is not known how many rioters have been injured,” reports New York Times.

Gov. Larry Hogan, who visited injured officers and  in process of accessing damage. In beleaguered budgets the actions of the leadership are called into question as to how this situation was managed.

Baltimore use of intelligence needed to foresee the high probability of outrage that was to come from the death of Gray after being played out on national news and social media over and over.

Their  reaction was to let a cancer spread then try radiation as a palliative care this is akin to the response of Baltimore’s leadership. The opportunity to reduce stress is better than escalation.

I offer to the people of Baltimore that this situation should not be treated as a race and/or violence problem. Baltimore is in a state of illness that must be treated as a disease where the looters are attacking the system. The police and law enforcement over treating a disease leads to death or the inability to rectify the illness that is spreading.  I suggest it is time to talk and stop the spread with a cure.
