The importance of agricultural development and sustainability is important to growing populations. The importance of  oil and energy rich nations focus on food is important to share. As nations who have overcome the energy, food is critical to a sustainable path.  The news of “Some 11 Kuwaiti firms partake in OIC Agribusiness Expo” to showcase their solutions.

“Kuwait’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry has brought on board 11 local companies to partake in the Agribusiness Expo for Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.  Launching the event was Makkah region’s Director General for Agricultural Affairs Hassan bin Obaid Sanqouf, on behalf of the Saudi Minister of Agriculture Fahad Balghenaim. The opening was attended by several Saudi and OIC member nation officials, including Kuwait’s Charge d’Affaires at the consulate in Jeddah Sultan Al-Subaie.  The event, held between April 13 and 16, is being organised by the OIC’s Morocco-based Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) in collaboration with a Saudi events management company.”

Chief organizer of the Kuwaiti contributions Mohammad Al-Khaldi said that the country is taking part in the exhibition with a huge stall that will be showcasing 10 leading local companies operating in the food industry and one in packaging. Kuwait hopes to make its national products more known to international markets through the move, he said, expressing delight at participating in the event, as it encourages “continuing commercial and investment cooperation with Saudi Arabia,” reports Kuwait News.

The importance to developing sustainable nations after the road to energy solutions is understood is planning the role of agriculture. Agriculture is critical to advancing the needs of the populations for healthy access to food and water.  Food development and land utilization is primary to the sustainable nexus.

The plan to develop sustainable food through agribusiness solutions is on balance with energy solutions.  The ability to grow, package and distribute food along with managing agricultural byproducts, as well as its waste is relevant to sustainable nations. Foods answers where do oil rich nations tread for the next focus after energy is considered.
