The weather conditions have been a strain on the gird. The drastic weather changes accompanied by the increase use of power and downed trees effecting lines has proved to have an exponential impact on the infrastructure. The end-result for families and businesses is that “Many will be without power until after the weekend: PECO” reports.
The tragedy in freezing temperatures is that “more than 600,000 people in Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, Montgomery and Bucks counties who still have no power after Wednesday morning’s ice storm and many may be without service into the weekend, PECO officials said Wednesday afternoon. More than 3,000 PECO personnel and 1,500 field employees are working to restore power as soon as they can,” reports Metro Philadelphia.
