The Department of Veterans Affairs reports, The Veterans Opportunity to Work (VOW) to Hire Heroes Act of 2011, provides seamless transition for Servicemembers, expands education and training opportunities for Veterans, and provides tax credits for employers who hire Veterans with service-connected disabilities.
VRAP Applications are now Closed
By law, VA cannot accept applications for VRAP after October 1, 2013.
If you have been approved for VRAP training benefits, please enroll in a training program as soon as possible in order to receive the greatest benefit amount available through the program. Training benefits will be paid through March 31, 2014.
- To date, VA has received and processed more than 143,000 VRAP applications. Of over 126,000 approved applicants, inore than 71,900 have enrolled in a training program
- VA has paid over $587,000,000 in VRAP benefits to unemployed Veterans, age 35-60
Veterans who have already been approved for VRAP but are not currently enrolled in a training program can enroll and begin receiving benefits from now until March 31, 2014.
- Veterans who enroll in a training program today will not receive the full 12-month training benefit. Training benefits will be paid through March 31, 2014.
