The glitz around SEO is not what businesses or people need as content is king.  The art of being king or queen is algorithmic and delivering on high level content.  Further, today the process of engagement is to meet and then Google to see the credentials of the person, place or thing through search.  The next hurdle is the art of the search which is complex and not easy as many searches reflect the predictive algorithms embedded sending back responses based on the capabilities of the searcher.  The reality  that “Quality Content, Social Media Ups Brands In Search Engine Rankings” is valid application that needs to be demystified to the buyer of content.

Online Media Daily reports, “Content quality will become one of the most important ranking factors in the history of search engine optimization for Bing and Google. Overall, pages with more text tend to correlate 0.09 higher in rankings. Pages that rank in the top 30 Bing results feature about 100 more words than URLs that rank in the corresponding positions on Google search engine results pages (SERPs).”

The quick content and only back linking are not the framework of good content. The mastery of words, process and delivery is the making of high quality content.

The need to know is “The study found that for Bing this relationship exists up to a limit of around 700 words on average; adding text to boost ranking isn’t the answer. In terms of images, Bing differs from Google with respect to their values. In Google searches, the higher the number of images on a Web site, the better the ranking correlation in general — about 0.08. For Bing, the correlation for the number of images is much lower, at 0.03.”

The issue to note is Google changes it algorithms and masterfully changing the rubric or foundation of what is indexed. Content providers need to consider and be masterful in content delivery to maintain their clients high score and ranking over time.

“Only 24.7% of Bing.com Web page URLs on page one also serve up on the first page of Google, but results do not necessarily serve up in the same order. The study is based on an analysis of search results from Bing.com for 10,000 popular keywords and 300,000 Web sites in the top 30 search results and picks out the issues that correlate with a high ranking on Bing.”

The reality is their are billions of website and growing daily. For every voice a website can be generated with a connection and hardware. There are 3.9 billion websites as of October 17, 2013 reports World Wide Web Web Size. This number is relevant as typically 300,000 sites are viewed; therefore, good content is key.

The work of indices and the power of algorithms are real and complex. “While brand sites have an overall advantage, Google’s algorithm seems to more effective identify brands.” The work is to produce high quality content to work in the mathematical framework of Jon Kleinberg.

Masterful algorithms such as, Kleinberg’s that considered “the problem of extracting meaningful information from document streams (such as email messages or news articles) that arrive continuously over time—in particular, spotting the “burst of activity” that signals the first appearance of a new topic.”

The working rule is upon the search people, places and things wanting to be found among the data soup.
