Timing is everything. It was not three years that in a meeting with one of the largest Construction Manager (CM) company’s that energy efficiency and new standards will change the building trades. This change gives CM’s the opportunity to advise clients early on energy efficiency options in new construction and retrofits. The legislation of “New energy efficiency rules proposed in US” is finally here and necessary for health, safety and economy. What is saved on energy is money for investment.
Boiler Juice reported, “The US government has outlined new energy efficiency rules which it claims will help households in the country to save money. Heather Zichal, the deputy assistant to president Barack Obama for energy and climate change, said energy efficiency is one of the “clearest” and most “cost-effective” opportunities to save both families and businesses money.”
“New laws for improving energy efficiency standards for commercial refrigeration equipment were outlined by the US administration, as well as a rule that would boost energy efficiency standards for walk-in coolers and freezers.”
The upfront costs to energy efficiency may seem burdensome but the overall result is cost savings and efficiencies that support healthier systems. The focus on energy is relevant to smart solutions and improved infrastructure. The nexuses of energy efficiency are improved air quality, tighter building, water reduction and systems.
