Sustainable Art – The importance of sustainability represented visually provides another language on sustainability. Sustainability is challenged to be a pivotal hallmark within language. The ability to distinguish the language within sustainability is crossing the rubicon to a new intelligence. The beauty of visual tactile expression is one expression to aid in “Sustainable is the word Traveling art exhibit comes to town with agriculture focus“.
Delmarva Now reported on the “gallery, called The Lexicon of Sustainability, is created by Douglas Gayeton and Laura Howard-Gayeton of California, and the goal is to try to expand vocabularies and continue conversations when it comes to the subject.”
It is surprising that many who are wrapped in sustainability do not understand the word, process or lens that permeates all aspects of life. It is passion to express that sustainability is a lens to reveal opportunity to transform.
The agreement with Gayeton who shared, “We think that sustainability is really a language that people have to learn to speak,” “But you can’t really talk about sustainability if you don’t know what the key terms and principles are that define the conversation.”
Sustainability is a language but not a hurdle to overcome but a system to adopt. The goal for LAND sds is not to make sustainability a boutiquish that is for the few but a mantra for the many that permeates our language, actions, philosophy and behaviors for continuous change in organizations and personal behaviors.
There are many divides today such as, race, gender, economics, education, technology, class, beauty, intelligence, religious, spiritual, size, health, community, food and more. Sustainability can close these gaps, as well as divides to transform for equity and social justice.
