The Butler teaches us that the striving for inclusion and equity is still hard fought struggle that persists. Jobs offers some do not fit the normalized view pointing to the idiom that for some the “square peg in round hole” applies. Both movies convey that perspectives shaped their actions. They both were molded by their ideals and driven to shape a new world. The Butler, Cecil Gaines saw a world of privileged from the White House despite his own racism and oppression. Jobs saw privileged and yet, socially inept creating a form of personal exclusion despite his power.
