One More Day to Support a Small Business

Small Business We are Open

June 21, 2013

Dr. Tyra Oldham, LANDsds Sustainable Voice News

The economy is driven by business and goodwill of its individuals and the combination of the two. A important overlooked sector is that of the small business from mom-and-pop to larger scale operations yet still small.   The vital importance of the small business is this is the sector that provides jobs and extends opportunities to the underemployed. The emphasis to identify “5 Ways To Support Local Businesses During Small Business Week: Forbes” is link to economic development success.

The economy would cease to function without the spirit, diligence and possibility courage of the small business owner who often works painlessly for long hours to drive a solution for their clients. Further, most businesses start small and with many factors falling into place become large businesses- when opportunity meets preparation adage.

President Obama declared June 16-22, 2013 as National Small Business Week and stated, “America’s small businesses reflect the best of who we are as a Nation—daring and innovative, courageous and hopeful, always working hard and looking ahead for the next great idea.”

Forbes article states that  “the 30 million or so small businesses in the United States create roughly two out of every three jobs. What’s more, most communities depend on the strength of their local businesses to grow and thrive.”

Small Business

The drive to consider the Dow, NASDAQ and more are the big spend and generators of business but the tracking and considering the fluctuation of the Small Dow or MiniDaq if I may make a play on words is the fuel of the economy generating consumer spend and growth. The small business is a vital force under-served, under reported and under nourished.

If all small businesses were to cease the economy would stagger then fall, leading to a slow death and a under supplied supply chain. Big business are big because small exist.
