Executing the fundamentals of Economic Development… for a better bottom line. Join us for an afternoon networking session with products from Utah’s Own.

April 3, 2014 @ The Grand America Hotel, Salt Lake City

It has become Utah’s premier event for advancing the states local and global economic position.  This year, the Summit will focus on Executing the Fundamentals of Economic Development and provide business leaders and decision-makers from the business, government and academic communities the opportunity to learn more about strategic opportunities and challenges facing businesses today.

As Utah continues to be one of the nations top states for business, the Summit is designed to enhance Utah business across the local, national and global marketplace. Individual presenters and panels of knowledgeable state and national experts of business innovation, law, entrepreneurship, economic development, global expansion, energy, real estate, political process, economics and more will be conducting specialized breakout sessions in multiple tracks throughout the day.

Governor Gary R. Herbert will present the afternoon keynote address. We will also be privileged to hear from Clayton Christensen, a native of Utah and professor at Harvard Business School.  He is regarded as one of the world’s top experts on innovation and growth, and his ideas have been widely used in business and organizations around the world. Additionally, Richard Marriott, Chairman of the Board of Host Hotels, will be a featured speaker.

The Summit will also spotlight what some may say is the world’s largest emerging market – those with disability. Professionals and talented employees with a disability are more common than you may think. And, as baby boomers age, “disability” will expand rapidly. Some of Utah’s, and the Nation’s, top companies are benefiting from the impact of talented disabled professionals.

The Governor’s Utah Economic Summit is the place for business leaders and decision-makers to prepare for the opportunities that lie ahead as our state economy continues to grow and flourish.

Consider the ambiguity and distance between the have and have nots. A citizen sleeping 15 feet from a ATM that he cannot access. This is a wow moment. In this rich nation no one has to be homeless or nameless @tyra_oldham #images #SustainableMoment #economicdevelopment This caught my eye as the irony of poverty and business advancement are together. This is a reality yet it is not often expressed so simply and obvious. "We are a society when we uplift of citizens" - Tyra Oldham #business #poverty #society #economi development Appreciating each drop of water. Dancing water for fun and life. "Where there is water there is life" -Tyra Oldham I took this picture of an escalator stair because of its rythmical beauty and similarity to us all. We all are linked within degrees of separation all going up in different stages.
